Scripture Cathedral Ministries Leadership

Scripture Cathedral Ministries is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will. Following are brief bio's of our leadership team and their qualifications for ministry.

Bishop Donnell Long

Senior Pastor

Bishop Clarence D. Long is the Senior Pastor of the Scripture Cathedral Ministries. Bishop Long was born in Fairfax, Virginia, to the late Apostle C.L. Long and Elder Joanne Long.  Bishop Long is a native of Prince George’s County, MD.  Upon graduating from Potomac High School, Bishop Long continued his education at the University of Maryland, majoring in Business Management.

God has placed a special call on Bishop Clarence D. Long’s life to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  At the early age of 12, Bishop Clarence D. Long received the gift of the Holy Ghost.  In 1988, Bishop Clarence D. Long became an ordained Minister.  His elevation in God continued when he was ordained an Elder in 1989.  In the same year, Apostle C.L. Long appointed Bishop Clarence D. Long to serve as the Assistant Pastor of the Scripture Cathedral, an office he faithfully served in for over 20 years.  Shortly after Apostle C.L. Long was called home to be with the Lord in March of 2015, Bishop Clarence D. Long was consecrated to the position of Senior Pastor and Successor of the Scripture Cathedral Ministries.

On October 9, 2021, (then Elder Clarence D. Long) was consecrated to the office of Bishop by the College of Bishops, which included Bishop Ronald H. Carter, Bishop Melvin Robinson, Jr., Bishop Floyd Nelson, Jr., Bishop Ronald Demery, Bishop Jason Brownlee, Bishop Bonnie Hunter, Bishop Kenneth Chisolm, and Bishop David Myrick, just to name a few. This God-ordained occasion was witnessed by many both in person and abroad via live stream.

Much like his predecessor, Bishop Clarence D. Long is a man of God with a Shepherd’s heart, who is continually working to serve those in need.  His leadership has been instrumental in organizing numerous community outreach events to help the less fortunate.  One of his most important projects is the Gospel Outreach program.  Through this effort, hundreds of people have been introduced to Christ and have seen their lives transformed by the power of God. Also each year, Bishop Clarence D. Long and the Scripture Cathedral Ministries host a “Back to School” Community Day.  As a result of this event, 100's of children receive new backpacks filled with school supplies.  When the nation was hit by several hurricanes in 2017, Bishop Clarence D. Long immediately went into action to aid displaced hurricane victims.  He opened up the doors of the Scripture Cathedral for donations while simultaneously organizing a benefit concert to help the displaced victims.  As a result of these efforts, an excess of (10,000) bottles of water was collected and delivered to provide aid to the hurricane victims.

Bishop Clarence D. Long is passionate about encouraging and supporting the youth. He routinely mentors and provides a safe haven for youth through church activities. He is a huge advocate for education, encouraging the youth and Scripture Cathedral members to strive for greatness through education. As a result of his passion for higher learning, the Scripture Cathedral has developed and hosts the C.L. Long Bible Institute.

Bishop Long enjoys serving God with his wife of 30+ years, First Lady Doretha Long. They reside in Maryland and are the proud parents of their daughter, Promise.
